Olivia Murphy and her twin Isabella are pictured to the left. Their parents allowed research to proceed while Olivia was being treated for childhood Leukaemia. "Olivia's blood stem cells carried a second defect, a missing gene, that switched the cells from a "pre-leukaemia" state into full-blown leukaemia." Because of the Murphy's, gift screening, and perhaps even preventative treatments, can be attempted. There's more work for certain yet this is a major step.
