Nearly 50 years in east Alabama, a surname going back to Vikings invading Scotland, and finally too much religious fundamentalism coupled to reactionary radicalism motivates me. I'll share (rarely as of late) my ideas on politics, learning, ... My clan supposedly uses "Peace ... or War!" Maybe those genes compel me to join issue? (Propservralism = PRogressivism + pOPulism + conSERVatism + libeRAL + pragmatISM) Respectfully, John Gunn

GOP Gerrymandering Heads to Supremes
Kate Cambor at TPM Cafe gives us "Messing with Texas" which examines the Supreme Court tackling the redistricting of various Texas House Districts via ReThuglican Tom Delay and his minions. One thing Ms. Cambor doesn't cover is the fact that six career Justice lawyers plus two career analysts found the redistricting failed according to the Voting Rights Act only to see political appointees of Bu$h knock their objections aside ... and they apparently gagged any potential leaks. Attorney General Abu Gonzales of course defended Bu$hCo. Check out Maptitude software to see how easy (for only $7500.00 ... which is likely the greens fee for The Hammer's golfing adventures!) it is getting to manipulate districts. Peace ... or War!
