Off to the big sandbox so ...

I'll be across the pond for the next year, with the exception of some R&R leave likely this winter, but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to read and write at times. Please let there be a way to get to the Internet where I'm located! The bride and I will use Skype to try to stay in touch and feel free to look me up as "johnralphgunn" if so inclined. I use Facebook at times as a poor substitute for blogging and continue to mix it up on the Montgomery Advertiser and ... Take care, John

UPDATE ~ 20 November 2009 - The sandbox turns into a mudhole at this time of the year. Unimaginable! All OK so far here as finally I got an internet connection that is somewhat solid. I am becoming rather fond of Twitter I'll also confess. Please do follow me at @johnralphgunn if so inclined. I've pretty much given up on the Montgomery Advertiser as there are some rascals regularly commenting there that I just can't handle. Peace, John

UPDATE ~ 15 February 2010 - First things first, the dirt is hardly sand where I am. It's odd as it turn to brick when it turns dry. I've started being bad to pick up rocks here as there are some really neat ones laying about that I presume have been dredged from rivers or canals for gravel. Anyhows ...

I'm tweeting to http://twitter.com/JuntoGunto rather often these days. Dangerously addictive, hardly a detailed as a nice fat post yet brutally fast, I'm letting it help me through this tour. Reading some of course and using this for good where I'm able. As for the Twitter handle, I had a wonderful high school history teacher who was flamboyant, demanding, wonderful, etc. that we called Cato. He was, perhaps still is, if there are any really left, a moderate Republican. When I decided to go into teaching way back when, my friends labeled my Junto or at times Mr. Gunto.
